Oh, yeah, baby!!
It's here in town right now, but I didn't realize it until too late. I'm hoping it'll still be playing next weekend, otherwise I'll have to wait for Nexflix.

Yes, I will want to see this, too! Looks like it hasn't been released in my city yet (which is actually a pretty big city), so I'll have to keep watching the movie times.
Thanks for the alert, Skwigg!

Oh my god, it's Farmer John! He's sort of the spokesperson, I guess, for a CSA near Chicago - Angelic Organics. My BF got me this cookbook as a gift a few years back and it's the best ever - it walks you through the harvest season by vegetable, with recipes for each. So whenever you go to the farmer's market, you can buy anything that's in season and know you have a recipe for it.
Anyway, that looks like a great film, very enlightening. I hope we get it in my part of Michigan sometime soon.

Name: "anonymous"Whoa where have I been!?!? I've never even heard of this movie and yet it's already come out? I probably missed it, but if not I want to run to the theatre! If not, Netflix. Thanks so much!

Saw it last week. Much of it overlaps the material in The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan, and also with The Future of Food, another documentary.

Name: "Kate"Have you heard about the documentary The Killer at Large? It just became available on iTunes a few months ago. It's all about the obesity epidemic - I HIGHLY recommend it, it's very compelling. Food Inc. just opened in Austin, I can't wait to see it.

Thanks for posting the trailer--I am waiting to see it but it hasn't arrived in my town yet!
BTW: when my almond milk breaks, I usually just pour it all into a glass pitcher with a seal.

Wait, you wouldn't duct tape the lid on backwards? And then wrap the leaking box in foil and put a rubber band around it? :-D
God, I'm a dingbat sometimes! Pitcher! That's brilliant! LOL

I dunno, I didn't think it was anything so great. Flip through the cable once in a while and watch plenty of documentaries like that. Check out websites such as PETA and you'll be overwhelmed with the same information.
The bottom line is always going to be eat more fresh produce, organic whenever possible. Always wash your fruits and vegetables. Buy locally whenever possible at a farm stand. Avoid or eliminate processed foods. Reduce your consumption of meats. fish and poultry. Be selective and know what you are buying. Shop for quality not price. Blah blah blah. What part didn't we already know? Maybe being vegetarian I've been more inclined to pay attention to issues like this. Not that any of it isn't good information I just don't think it's anything new.

Name: "HeartofGlass"I love almond milk, but it is Blue Diamond's fault for making such a terrible box--if both of us have had problems, it's time for them to go back to the drawing board!

Name: "Jessica"While you are waiting, here's a great read: "Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Known" by Christopher McDougall. It's neat to read about the Tarahumara Indians - they eat a simple diet, and are the greatest endurance runners on the planet, and they practically run barefoot! Most of all they love to move - smiling in the midst of a 60 mile run. It really gave me a fresh perspective on exercise.
